Jeep has introduced a new 12-inch Uconnect 5 touch screen and made it standard across the board. The American automaker has also added another trim level, which now slots in as the base trim.
The Wrangler 4xe is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission, two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. These components combine for an impressive 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, and the transmission distributes power to all four wheels. Properly equipped, the Wrangler 4xe can tow 3,500 pounds, which is the same tow rating of the standard Wrangler Unlimited.
All Wrangler 4xe models sold and leased through Puente Hills Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram come standard with a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touch screen. A rearview camera system and automatic headlamps are standard. An optional Safety Group adds automatic high-beam control, blind-spot and cross-path detection and a rear park-assist system. Integrated navigation is optional starting with the Sahara 4xe.
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe near Los Angeles is a four-wheel-drive SUV. It provides an EPA-estimated 22 miles of all-electric range, and it comes standard with support for both 120- and 240-volt charging. Level 1 allows charging from 0% to 100% in about 12 hours. Level 2, which will require the installation of a dedicated charger, allows charging from 0% to 100% in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
The Sport S 4xe is the newest addition to the Wrangler 4xe lineup and provides customers an even more affordable entry point. The Willys 4xe adds the Willys appearance package. The Sahara 4xe adds many amenities and technologies, and the High Altitude 4xe adds even more. The Rubicon 4xe is aimed at off-road enthusiasts, and the Rubicon X 4xe includes a number of the Rubicon options.
